As I was listening to the 80s on 8 (the best reason to get Sirius XM Radio), Thomas Dolby‘s “She Blinded Me with Science” came on. Great song. Memorable video. I remember it clearly, and it struck me: Thomas Dolby and Alton Brown are the same person. Judge for yourself. Here are the facts as I see them.
1) Alton Brown ascended just as Thomas Dolby faded from the scene. Admittedly, Thomas Dolby’s sole big hit was in 1982, and Good Eats debuted in 1999, so there is a bit of a gap. My theory is that Thomas spent those years in the Carpathian Mountains learning to cook from the disembodied spirit of Julia Child, only to clamber down the mountains years later a changed man: Alton Brown.
2) Just look at them. The same guy. No one (to my knowledge) has ever seen them together. Ipso facto.
