Thanks to Coursera, I’ll be taking an online course on songwriting. I don’t expect to become a songwriter, but I am hoping to learn some techniques that will help me with my other writing. I’ve downloaded the optional book for the class and there are several writing exercises that seem like they would equally apply to fiction (or even some nonfiction) writing.

Let me know if you’ll be taking the class too – I’d love to have someone to compare notes with and collaborate on the class.
