For the final project in the Coursera class in Python Programming, we recreated a version of Asteroids. While they provided artwork to use, I replaced most of it to create a seasonal version I called Santa Blaster. See video below for a screen capture of my Santa Blaster version.

I was pretty much a complete novice, and ended up feeling mildly competent. I’ve even been working on extending what I learned through some personal projects. Overall I highly recommend the class to anyone wanting to learn programming.
