If you want to get to the north pole, you can take a variety of routes to get there. All you have to do is go slightly northward with every path you take, and eventually you will get there. Some routes using this method will be longer than others. Some will be quite direct, and others quite circuitous. Regardless, you will get there.
This is why it is important to oppose tyranny in all its forms. If you proceed in its direction, even slightly, you will eventually arrive. Some of the routes may seem quite long, and quite attractive. They may seem to offer greater security, whether physical or financial. They may seem to offer less social inequality, or more social stability. The amount you have to move in the direction of tyranny may seem very small indeed in comparison to the benefits the route offers.
In spite of all of that, the route ultimately leads the same place just the same: Tyranny. The only way to avoid it is not to head in its direction. Instead, move in the direction of freedom, if only a little bit. The routes can be just as beautiful, and the destination is much better in the end.
