For my sixth iteration of the same poem, I’m switching from a sonnet to haiku. My intent is to keep the theme of the poem the same, just switching the form. Due to length, this version is a double haiku of six total lines, with each set of three lines totaling 17 or fewer syllables.
This Morning
The early sun, bright
Steam-covered mirror of hate
Razor, brush, toothpaste.
Wisdom comes too late.
No way to sit in peace
No path. To the east.
